Monster Energy is back as the official energy drink of SGP, set to launch on May 3rd at Landshut, Germany’s OneSolar Arena

Lights! Cameras! Speedway! Monster Energy’s stars of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series – Freddie Lindgren,Dan Bewley & Jack Holder – are set to represent the glowing green M-claw logo for the 2025 FIM Speedway Grand Prix season when the gate drops, er, rises on May 3rd at Landshut, Germany’s OneSolar Arena.

Collectively, the three Monster Energy SGP racers made up half of the top six overall finishers in 2024, with Lindgren leading the trio with a 3rd place overall finish, scoring 141 points (Bewley 4th with 127 and Holder 6th with 106). All three racers would win one (1) individual race during the ’24 season, Lindgren getting his victory at Round 6 in Poland, Bewley’s win coming on his home turf in Cardiff, Great Britain, while Holder captured his lone victory at the SGP opener in Croatia.

“Monster Energy’s Freddie Lindgren, Dan Bewley and Jack Holder are driving forces in the series,” says 4-time SGP World Champion Greg Hancock, Monster Energy’s Global Speedway Ambassador. “The 2025 World Championship is shaping up to be a real mix of experience and youth. This combination includes repeat wildcards who will be pushing hard to prove their positions in the World Championship series.”

With Poland’s Bartosz Zmarzlik returning as the odds-on favorite to defend his ’24 SGP title, Lindgren was only three points back (144-141) of the series’ runner-up position to Great Britain’s Robert Lambert. And given parity was at a premium atop the SGP podiums last season – Zmarzlik being the only triple race winner, with seven other racers winning races – it stands to reason that the 2025 season will again be a shootout for the top podium spots.

While Bewley came on stronger towards the end of the ’24 SGP season (74 points in the last five races to Lindgren’s 69 points), it was Lindgren who put up the most consistent number for Monster Energy throughout the entire speedway season, scoring seven podium finishes (to Lambert’s five and Bewley’s three).

“I feel really excited about the new season to start again,” said Lindgren. “It’s spring time and you get that sense of breathing fresh air again, and you can sense all of these new possibilities coming your way. I’ve worked extremely hard since mid-October, every day, trying be the best that I can. Working with my race team on my bikes to make them the best that we can. So I feel ready to take on whatever challenges come my way, and I really want to make a push for the World Championship. Fulfill my goal of becoming the 2025 World Champion, and do everything that I can do to make it happen.”

Said Hancock on Lindgren: “Freddie has the ‘Never give up’ attitude which has taken him a long way. However, after a few subtle adjustments throughout the off season, he will be in search of more consistent starts to take a shot at the top step.”

For Bewley, probably the best off-season news he received is that the FIM Speedway GP tour will be hitting his British club track, Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium – home of Bewley’s Belle Vue Aces team. Bewley, with countrymen Lambert and Tom Brennan, also won their second FIM Speedway of Nations title (in three years) at Manchester in ’24.

“I’m really looking forward to the 2025 season,” said Bewley. “I had a really solid second half of the year last year with a few podiums in a row, and another win. Having a GP at Belle Vue in Manchester, my home track in the British League, is a pretty big one for me. That one will be a little extra special.”

Added Hancock: “Dan Bewley has amazing skills and talent. I’m just waiting for him to show his real desire to win because he has the potential to challenge the current World Champion.”

...

Holder, whose brother, Chris, was the 2012 SGP World Champion, couldn’t have started his ’24 SGP season out any better, winning the Boll FIM Speedway GP opener at Speedway Stadium Milenium in Donji Kraljevec, Croatia. A couple more podiums would follow (Germany & Sweden), then some consistency issues would occur, which dropped Holder down in the standings to 6th at season’s end. Not necessarily where Holder wanted to be, but the fiery Australian is hungry to get back after it on the ’25 SGP tour.

“Obviously, 6th isn’t what we wanted,” explained Holder. “But making the top six is a huge effort and we learned a lot.”

Holder continued: “As always, looking forward to this year. I learned a lot last year about myself and my equipment. And going back home to Australia and finally watching my first GP win with my mum, dad, Jess (wife) and my son was huge for me. I’d waited seven long months for that moment! Now we’re going again this year. I’ve done everything possible to be ready, fit, and ready to go after what I want!”

Said Hancock on Holder: “Jack Holder's natural ability aligns with the Holder family traits. He is motivated by his brother's World Championship success and may benefit from exploring unconventional approaches to his performance and equipment. It would be great to see him step outside of the box to make this happen.”

...

Noteworthy… In addition to Lindgren, Bewley and Holder, Monster Energy would also like to recognize its longtime racer, Great Britain’s Tai Woffinden. His nation’s first-ever triple world SGP champion, the longtime Monster Energy athlete was involved in a serious racing accident in Poland on March 30th and is still recovering from numerous injuries. Monster Energy wishes ‘Woffi’ and his family the best during this tough time.
