Monster Army’s Dante Silva wins Dual Slalom at Crankworx Whistler; Ostgaard and Mallen take 2nd in Air Downhill, Couderc finishes 3rd in Slopestyle series.

Monster Energy celebrates a powerful showing at Crankworx Whistler 2025, led by Monster Army rider Dante Silva’s first-place finish in the Specialized Dual Slalom competition. The 22-year-old from San Diego, California, claimed his first career win at Whistler with a commanding performance in the legendary Boneyard.

Held from August 8–17, the 20th edition of Crankworx Whistler brought together the world’s top mountain bikers for a week of racing and freestyle competition. With over 8,000 fans in attendance, the event featured elite athletes competing across multiple disciplines at Whistler Mountain Bike Park, marking two decades of Crankworx pushing the boundaries of the sport.

Specialized Dual Slalom: Silva Soars to Victory

In the high-speed, head-to-head format of Dual Slalom, Silva battled through a stacked bracket. After edging out Australia’s Luke Meier-Smith in the quarterfinals and defeating Canadian favorite Tegan Cruz in the semis, Silva faced fellow American Austin Warren in the final. With tight gates and a big gap jump testing every rider’s control and precision, Silva delivered a flawless run to take the win in front of a roaring crowd.

Air Downhill: Ostgaard and Mallen Take Second

Monster Army’s Taylor Ostgaard, 19, from Selah, Washington, made her Crankworx debut in the Elite Women Division of the Air Downhill race. In a tightly contested field, she secured second place with a time of 4:47.747. In the U19-Men Division, 17-year-old Luke Mallen from Sandy, Utah, also claimed second with a time of 4:28.634, showcasing the depth of talent in the Monster Army program.

Slopestyle: Couderc Podiums in World Championship Series

In the Red Bull Joyride Slopestyle event, Monster Energy’s Paul Couderc from Auch, France, finished ninth with a score of 80.80 after landing a technical second run. His performance included standout tricks like a double backflip, 360 toboggan into backflip tailwhip, and opposite tailwhip. Couderc’s result secured him third place overall in the 2025 Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship Series.

“Super stoked to land my second run today after a mistake on the first run,” said Couderc. “It’s a super tricky course out here in Whistler for Joyride. I had to land my second run to keep my third place overall in the world ranking. Super stoked that I made it happen. It was a super tough day!”

With podiums across racing and freestyle, Monster Energy and Monster Army riders made a strong impact at Crankworx Whistler 2025, continuing to push the limits of competitive mountain biking.
