Enzo Temmerman Stays Undefeated at Loretta’s with Open Pro Sport Moto 1 Win
Monster Energy’s Enzo Temmerman goes 3-for-3 at Loretta Lynn’s, leading a dominant Wednesday with class wins from Shane, Denno, Gieck, Mes, Covell, Fitch, and Morgan.
The area on and around the podium at the 44th running of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur Motocross Championship, presented by AMSOIL, at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., was awash with Monster Energy – both celebratory product and M-claw logos – as Monster Energy-backed racers upped the ante on Tuesday’s big time effort at the world’s premier amateur motocross contest with an incredible ten class moto victories and 22 podium finishes on Wednesday.
Headlining at Loretta’s for Monster Energy, as he had on Tuesday, was Team Green/Kawasaki’s Enzo Temmerman, who swept the opening Open Pro Sport moto, along with 250 Pro Sport Moto 2 on Wednesday (Temmerman also won the 250 Pro Sport Moto 1 on Tuesday).

“I got a really good start, got in the lead right away,” said Temmerman. “And started pulling out. Had a crash, knocked the bars on my chin. There was blood everywhere, but we finished it off. Still got the win.”
Added Temmerman’s Monster Energy/Team Green/Kawasaki teammate Landen Gordon, who placed 2nd in Open Pro: “Same gate chip as yesterday. Wasn’t great. Not the best start. But I’ve been training in Florida and I’m conditioned. Ready for the rest of the week.”

Continuing to turn heads in the 85cc classes was Monster Energy’s Sawyer Gieck (KTM), who remained undefeated on the 85s at 3-0, bringing home two wins (85 & 85 Limited) on Wednesday. Monster Energy’s Owen Covell (Yamaha) also remained a perfect 3-0 on the week, winning Wednesday’s 450 B Moto 2. Other Monster Energy racers recording wins on Wednesday include: McKayden Fitch (Yamaha) in the 250 B Limited class, Tayce Morgan (Yamaha) Mini Sr 2, Braxtyn Mes (KTM) Schoolboy 1, Deacon Denno (KTM) Schoolboy 2 and Max Shane (Husqvarna) 450 B Limited.

Notes & Quotes
- “I did probably 400 starts, training last week at Moto Sandbox. So yeah, starts are dialed.” – Diesel Thomas on his excellent starts and podium finishes thus far in Open Pro and 250 Pro Sport.
- “It’s been fun to watch him (Diesel Thomas) come through the ranks. I remember him all the way back on 50s and 65s. Next thing you know, they’re in Pro Sport.” – MX Sports podium announcer Jason Weigandt.
- “Way better start than yesterday. Pretty pumped with that ride.” – Braxtyn Mes, Schoolboy 1 winner on Wednesday.
- “About five laps in, I made some bad decisions with my line choice, started to fade a little bit. But it’s OK. We got it done.” – 85 (10-12) Moto 1 winner Sawyer Gieck, who’s undefeated (3-0) in 85 and 85 Limited racing thus far.
- “I pulled Chip 24, not the best, not the worst. Not sure where I was on the start… back of the 20s, front of the 30s. I was just digging. Trying to pass as many as I could. That’s my advantage. Just going out there and sprinting.” – Tristan Prueitt, Schoolboy 1 silver medalist on Wednesday.
- “I knew that if I was going to be in the contention for the title, I had to get that 2nd (place) at least. Spun out at the start, came out in 15th, cruised for a bit there, then had to pick it up.” – Kyleigh Stallings, with the silver medal in WMX Moto 1.
- “I think if I ride like that no one’s on my level this week. That’s how I ride in training, and you’ll see more of that all week.” – A confident Deacon Denno after a dominant win in the Schoolboy 2 class.
- “Picked Chip 42. Got a great jump. I was like ‘Damn, dude, I might have got a great start.’ Worked my way up to 3rd.” Schoolboy 2 bronze medalist Vincent Wey
