Supercross Racers Head to Paris SX
Monster Energy’s Cooper Webb & Jo Shimoda head to France to defend their ’23 Paris SX podiums.
Since 1984 the Paris Supercross has been an off-season conquest for numerous Monster Energy-backed racers looking to fine-tune their dirt bikes and themselves versus like-pro riders in a fun and festive setting. Monster Energy’s racers past and present have walked away with the coveted “King of Bercy (and now King of Paris)” title, including Jeremy McGrath (1993 & ’95), Eli Tomac (’14) and, most recently, Jason Anderson (’18).
This weekend, Nov. 16-17, at the Paris La Defense Arena, Monster Energy will again be well represented in both the SX1 (450cc) and SX2 (250cc) classes, including defending SX2 “Prince of Paris SX” champion Jo Shimoda (Honda) and 3rd place podium finisher in the SX1 class, Cooper Webb (Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha). Monster Energy’s Dylan Ferrandis (Phoenix/Honda) will also boot up for his hometown fans at La Defense Arena.
And joining the American greats in the starting gate in Paris will Monster Energy/Yamaha’s MXGP competitor Paulo Alberto (Portugal).
The 41st running of the Paris SX boasts a “US size” track, according to race organizers, featuring a center start lane, multiple rhythm sections, an arena-long whoop pad, bowl turns, a sand section and sizable pyramid-style feature tabletop jump. Both nights’ action will also feature a high power FMX show, sponsored by Monster Energy, during intermission. FMX has been a longtime staple at the Paris SX, which was one of the first professional dirt bike racing events to embrace freestyle motocross movement and incorporate it into their program.
If you’re looking for an off-season dirt bike racing fix, this weekend’s Paris SX will air on Supercross MXGP-TV, with a pass available online and accessible for purchase worldwide (*except in France). With this pass [the weekend pass for both days of racing is $23], you’ll enjoy four hours of LIVE and On Demand coverage each day. The action kicks off on Saturday at 7 p.m. local time and continues on Sunday, starting at 3 p.m. local time.
Up next: The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross – and SuperMotocross Playoffs – begin Jan. 11 at Anaheim’s (Calif.) Angel Stadium.
