Derek "Buttsy" Butler, a talented self-taught drift racer from Ireland, is widely recognized as one of the best in Europe. Interestingly, cars didn't capture Butler’s attention until he turned 17. It was during a rally when he witnessed a donut maneuver that sparked his curiosity. Coming from a background of science, physics, and a love for understanding how things function, he found himself fascinated, wondering how such feats were possible. His curiosity led him to research rear-wheel drive cars and eventually, he took out a loan and purchased a 1986 Corolla AE86, a car known for its rallying capabilities in Ireland. As soon as he grabbed the steering wheel, he effortlessly pulled off a donut and discovered his natural knack for drifting. Drifting isn't about timing; it's all about style, and Butler has without doubt mastered it. His unmatched skill has earned him numerous championship titles across various racing disciplines, including Formula 1, IndyCar, and Le Mans. Additionally, he has conquered iconic endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
