Loris Vergier Secures Third Place at 2025 UCI Downhill World Cup in Andorra
Monster Energy’s Loris Vergier earns his second consecutive podium finish with a third-place result at the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup in Pal Arinsal.
Monster Energy’s Loris Vergier continued his strong mid-season form with a third-place finish in the Elite Men’s division at the 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup in Pal Arinsal, Andorra. The 28-year-old French rider delivered a clean and composed run on the rain-slicked course to secure his second consecutive podium finish.
The sixth stop of the 2025 season brought the world’s top downhill athletes to the iconic Pal Arinsal bike park, a mainstay on the UCI World Cup circuit since 2008. The 1.18-mile course challenged riders with steep gradients, tight corners, and technical terrain made even more demanding by overnight rainfall.
Vergier, who placed second the previous weekend in La Thuile, Italy, qualified third and maintained his momentum in the final. Navigating the treacherous wooded sections with precision, he crossed the line in 2:36.534 to claim third place.
“The track was great! It got faster with the rain overnight, but it was still very tricky in the woods,” said Vergier. “I really enjoyed today and I’m very happy to be back on the podium two times in a row now.”
Now residing in Andorra, Vergier celebrated the result with friends and supporters. He remains third in the overall season standings with 926 points and plans to use the upcoming break for testing and training ahead of the next round.
Other standout performances in the Elite Men’s final included Thibaut Daprela of France, who placed sixth with a time of 2:37.401, showcasing his aggressive riding style. Great Britain’s Jordan Williams, just 20 years old, impressed with a composed run to finish ninth in 2:37.673. Amaury Pierron, also from France, was on pace for a top result before a missed gate forced him to backtrack, costing him valuable time and a potential podium.

In the Elite Women’s division, France’s Marine Cabirou suffered a heavy crash that required hospital treatment. She is expected to return for the next round and currently holds sixth place in the overall standings with 649 points. Switzerland’s Camille Balanche, a consistent podium contender, slid off-track during her run and finished 14th. Despite the setback, she remains fourth in the standings with 717 points.

The 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup now enters its mid-season break. Racing resumes August 28–31 in Les Gets, Haute-Savoie, France.
