Team Liquid Tidal Clash presented by Monster Energy

Published On: 2/19/2025

Team Liquid Tidal Clash, powered by Monster Energy, brings an exciting series of FACEIT tournaments designed to unite, challenge, and reward Counter-Strike 2 fans.

Esports is all about competition, so naturally, we’re very interested in encouraging all kinds of competition — and encouraging all kinds of people to take part in it. This year, we’re teaming up with Team Liquid to develop regular FACEIT tournaments tailored specifically for the North American Counter-Strike community. We’ll be hosting two tournaments with different formats that anyone can participate in. All you need to do is sign up.

...

The first tournament is called Team Liquid Tidal Clash, presented by Monster Energy. It will be a 5v5 event held over the course of one day, and will take place on 3 different days:

  • February 15 (COMPLETED)
  • March 15
  • April 12

Sign-ups operate on a first come, first serve basis, with each team consisting of five players and one substitute, plus coaches if they have them. The 32 chosen teams will then battle their way through a single-elimination bracket of best-of-1 matches, until the last two teams play a best-of-3 final to determine the winner.

The prize pool for the Tidal Clash will see the second place team winning 10,000 FACEIT points, and the first place team earning $500. Both will also receive Monster Energy as part of their reward!

The second tournament will be the TL Twin Tides, a 2v2 tournament that similarly takes place over the course of a day. The dates for this will be:

  • February 22
  • March 8
  • March 22
  • April 5
  • April 19

The Twin Tides tournament will allow 64 teams of 2 to sign up — again on a first come, first serve basis — and each team will be allowed to have 1 substitute as well as coaches. These teams will play through a single-elimination best-of-1 bracket to determine the ultimate 2v2 champions. Third and fourth place finishers will receive 1000 FACEIT points, second place will get 3000 FACEIT points, and first place will win 5000 FACEIT points.

There will be no official broadcast for these tournaments, but community members are welcome to stream and cast them independently. There will also be a monthly leaderboard that runs through February, March, and April. Top 10 players at the end of each month will receive prizes that include FACEIT points and other Monster Energy rewards. If you don’t want to miss out on these, make sure to get on the grind and try to break into that top 10!

The best part of these tournaments is that anyone can join. All you have to do is be part of the Team Liquid FACEIT Hub.

So make sure you keep up with our competitive calendar and sign up to all the tournaments you can! Even if you don’t win a prize, you’ll get to be part of a vibrant community of like-minded competitors who all love North American Counter-Strike as much as you.
