From his roots racing in the Italian CIV Series, half brother of Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini worked his way up to the World Championship in 2016, where he made his debut with the Forward Racing Team. Switching to the Sky Racing Team in 2018, the young Italian impressed, with five podium finishes and a maiden Grand Prix win at Sepang. Despite undergoing surgery during the winter break, Marini put up a fight to finish his 2019 season strong, with two victories in Thailand and Japan. Labelled one of the favorites for the 2020 Moto2™ crown, Marini continued to battle to the end, just missing out on the title and finishing runner-up. Moving up to MotoGP™ in 2021, saw Marini endure a tough introduction to the Premiere class, but with grit and determination in abundance, the Italian continues to impress in 2022.
