Jhancarlos Gonzalez Claims Third at SLS Cleveland Takeover with Technical Street Skateboarding Performance
Monster Energy’s Jhancarlos Gonzalez earns third place at the SLS Cleveland Takeover, landing high-scoring tricks on a demanding street course.
Monster Energy’s Jhancarlos Gonzalez delivered a standout performance at the 2025 SLS Cleveland Takeover, securing third place in the Men’s division with a final score of 24.9 points. The 28-year-old street skater from Samaná, Colombia, impressed fans and judges alike with a series of high-difficulty tricks on a custom-built course at North Coast Yard.
Presented by Street League Skateboarding (SLS), the Cleveland Takeover marked the fourth stop of the 2025 SLS World Tour. Known for pushing the boundaries of competitive street skating, SLS events feature realistic urban-inspired obstacle courses designed by California Skateparks. The Cleveland setup included an 11-stair handrail and a street gap with an out-rail, rewarding riders who brought both technical precision and creative execution.

In Saturday’s Men’s final, ten of the world’s top street skateboarders battled it out over seven attempts each, with scores based on their three highest-scoring tricks. Gonzalez came out strong, landing a Caballerial backside lipslide on the big rail for 7.7 points. He followed up with a switch frontside hurricane for 8.2 points, then climbed into first place with a switch backside tailslide scoring 7.4.
Although he was bumped from the top spot in the final rounds, Gonzalez responded with one of the weekend’s most impressive moves: a Caballerial frontside noseslide on the big rail that earned 9.0 points and locked in his third-place finish.

Also making headlines was 15-year-old Monster Army rider Julian Agliardi from Long Beach, California. After qualifying through the Wildcard round earlier in the day, Agliardi showcased his potential with a 360 kickflip 50-50 grind on the big rail. In the finals, he landed a kickflip backside lipslide for 6.5 points and closed with a bigspin hurricane for 9.0 points—earning him seventh place and a coveted spot in the Nine Club.

Founded in 2010 by pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek, with Monster Energy as a founding sponsor, Street League Skateboarding has grown into the world’s premier competition series for authentic street skating. The SLS World Tour continues to spotlight elite talent and elevate the sport’s global reach.
The Cleveland Takeover not only highlighted seasoned pros like Gonzalez but also showcased the next generation of talent, with Agliardi’s performance signaling a bright future for the Monster Army program.
Fans can look forward to the final SLS Takeover event of the season, with details to be announced soon. The tour continues with major stadium events in Paris, France, on October 11, and wraps up with the SLS Super Crown World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, on December 6–7.
