Published On: 1/27/2025

In addition to Chloe Kim's win, Monster Energy riders took home a total of 22 X Games medals! See how Day 3 at X Games Aspen went down...

X Games Aspen 2025 is officially a wrap! On the third and final day of competitions at Buttermilk Mountain, 24-year-old Chloe Kim from Los Angeles, California, earned a dominant victory in Monster Energy Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe to defend her gold medal and achieved a new record for most Superpipe gold medals at eight gold medals in a tie with Shaun White.

The Monster Energy team’s medal haul for the weekend was on a new level: During three eventful days, our athletes took home 22 X Games medals (eight gold, six silver, and eight bronze) in the 24th edition of X Games Aspen. This marks an increase from 19 medals in 2024!

Here’s how it all went down for the team at X Games Aspen 2025 on Saturday:

MONSTER ENERGY WOMEN’S SNOWBOARD SUPERPIPE: THE QUEEN OF THE SUPERPIPE IS BACK

THE QUEEN RETURNS: At X Games Aspen 2024, Chloe Kim returned to the spotlight with a textbook victory? Could she continue her reign at X Games Aspen 2025 against a fresh generation of challengers? Turns out, she can!

Kim stoked the sold-out crowd in Aspen with a perfect run featuring a massive 720 Indy to fakie, switch method air, Cab double cork 1080, frontside 540, and Indy McTwist for 93.33 points and the gold medal.

“This one means a lot. If I’m going to be completely honest. I wish I had put down my second run, but am really happy nonetheless,” said Kim upon winning Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe.

Kim claimed her eighth SuperPipe gold. This makes her the female athlete with most X Games SuperPipe golds tying Shaun White's record of any athlete! Kim now owns 10 X Games medals (eight gold, one silver, and one bronze).

WOMEN’S SKI SLOPESTYLE: OLIVIA ASSELIN GOES HUGE FOR SILVER

Known as a trendsetter in snowboarding, 20-year-old Olivia Asselin is always ahead of the curve. After claiming silver on Friday in the brand-new Ski Street event, the Canadian showcased the latest trend out in the field: two medals from the same X Games! That’s why Asselin added silver in the Women’s Ski Slopestyle final to her growing bling collection.

After missing her first final run, Asselin had only one option: Go Full X Games Mode on the last attempt! In her final Run, Asselin landed a perfect run featuring switch 270 on to forward, right 270 on to the flat rail, and a 360 front swap to forward on the rainbow rail. Asselin now owns three X Games medals (two gold, and one silver).

PACIFICO MEN’S SNOWBOARD SLOPESTYLE: TAIGA HASEGAWA COMES THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH TO CLAIM BRONZE

DOUBLE THREAT: Taiga Hasegawa already claimed silver in Snowboard Big Air this weekend but was far from done. Going trick-for-trick with the world elite of slopestyle on the world’s most challenging course? Not an issue for Hasegawa, who returned with a bronze medal (and a big smile)!

Hasegawa may be known for big air, but he can pull out never-been-done (NBD) tricks on handrails just the same. His bronze medal run featured a 270 lipslide 270 off, Cab 450 lipslide 270 off and an NBD hand drag to 50-50 backside 180 the rainbow rail. In the jumps, the aerial expert excelled with a switch backside 1620 Weddle grab, double backside rodeo to 1260 tailgrab and Cab 1800 Weddle on the final hit for 81.00 points and third place. Hasegawa now owns three X Games medals (one gold, one silver, and one bronze).

MEN’S SKI BIG AIR: LUCA HARRINGTON TAKES SILVER WITH A NEVER-BEEN-LANDED TRICK

Well, that escalated quickly! As riders threw tricks in the playoff session, the minimum score to qualify into the final four quickly rose to 93.00 points. That’s a winning score in most contests! Unimpressed, Monster Army rider Luca Harrington put down a 94.00-point trick to coast into the final.

WHO’S THE ROOKIE NOW? When the never-been-done tricks continued in the final, the X Games rookie held his own like a veteran. He stomped a contorted triple cork 1980 (95.33 points) before landing the world’s first-ever triple cork 2160 tailgrab for 97.00 points and silver. Now that’s how you debut at X Games!

Harrington now owns two X Games medals (one gold, and one silver).

This concludes a history-making edition of Winter X Games in Aspen! The sold-out crowd in Aspen witnessed never-been-landed tricks, new records, and historic performances.

As the official energy drink partner of X Games, Monster Energy thanks the entire team in Aspen and everyone at X Games for making this an event for the history books.

Again, congrats to the Monster Energy team for Unleashing the Beast and claiming an incredible 22 X Games Medals (eight gold, six silver, and eight bronze) in the biggest winter action sports showcase on the planet!
