Annika Morgan claims first season podium and is joined by Mia Brookes, placing 3rd, at the Women's Snowboard Slopestyle at the Calgary Snow Rodeo.
Closing in on those Crystal Globes! Monster Energy congratulates Annika Morgan on taking second place in Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle at the Calgary Snow Rodeo in Canada. In the official World Cup event sanctioned by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), the 23-year-old from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, rose to the podium.
Morgan was joined on the podium by 18-year-old Mia Brookes from Sandbach, United Kingdom, in third place. Brookes now leads FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup season rankings.
The Calgary Snow Rodeo hosted the penultimate FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup of the 2024/25 season. Riders from across the globe hit the course at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, looking for crucial points towards this year’s Crystal Globe trophies in Slopestyle and Overall Snowboard Park & Pipe rankings.
In the Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle event, Annika Morgan earned her first podium spot of the season. After finishing in fourth place at the recent Aspen FIS World Cup event, Morgan rose all the way to second place in a competitive final session.
Morgan secured her podium finish on Run 1 by stringing together a switch boardslide pretzel 270, boardslide 270, and gap to boardslide pretzel 270 the kink rail, followed by Caballerial double underflip 900 Indy, backside 1080 melon, and frontside 360 tailgrab over the hip for 76.30 points.

Also rising to the podium Mia Brookes was looking to solidify her lead in FIS Slopestyle season rankings. Heading into the contest, Brookes shared the top spot with Monster Energy teammate, 20-year-old Japanese team rider Kokomo Murase, at 240 points each. With Murase not competing in Calgary, the door was open for Brookes to take the top position.
On her second run of the final, Brookes put down a frontside boardslide pretzel 270, backside boardslide pretzel 270, and switch backside boardslide to forward the kink rail, then hit the jumps with a backside 900 Indy, Caballerial 900 Weddle tailgrab, and frontside 360 frontside grab on the final hit for 74.08 points and third place at the Calgary Snow Rodeo.
Based on her result, Brookes now commands first place in the FIS Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle rankings with 300 points. This season, the young ripper secured her second consecutive Crystal Globe trophy in Snowboard Big Air and leads the overall 2024/25 FIS Snowboard World Cup Park & Pipe rankings.
Stay tuned when the final Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup event of the 2024/25 FIS season will crown winners from March 13-14, 2025, in Flachauwinkl, Austria.
