McLaren unleashed in Monaco as Norris destroys the streets with record-breaking win

Published On:: 2025-05-26

The papaya monsters roared through the marble streets of Monte Carlo, leaving smoke, sparks, and stunned silence in their wake. Lando Norris locked in his maiden victory at the Principality with a lap so fast it tore through the record books.

Lando laid down a 1:11.243 during the final third of the race a new Monaco track record

From the moment the lights went out, Lando and Oscar Piastri held their ground like gladiators in a marble arena. Norris struck first with a pit stop on Lap 19, slamming on the Hard tyres and punching his way into P4. Two laps later, Piastri followed suit with the strategy chess game unfolding.

And then — chaos. As the pack crumbled under mandatory stop pressure, the McLaren duo ascended. Lando snatched the lead. Oscar climbed to P3. The streets echoed with the howl of McLaren power as the team carved through Monaco’s myths and made their own.
Lap 49 — Piastri dives in again for fresh Hards, holding tight to P4. Lando follows. On the penultimate lap, Max folds. Lando reclaims the throne. The papaya prophecy is fulfilled.

Lando Norris, now a Monaco Grand Prix winner,
“This feels amazing. I’ve achieved one of my dreams – because winning here is what I dreamt of as a kid… I felt under control, able to push when I needed to and chill when I didn’t. I'm very happy, the team are very happy — we carry good momentum into the final race of the triple header.”

Next stop: the final race of the triple header.
