McLaren dominance at Silverstone after masterclass home race
In front of a roaring home crowd and under the ever-changing skies of Silverstone, McLaren Formula 1 Team delivered a dominant 1-2 finish at the British Grand Prix.

Lando Norris claimed a career-defining victory, with teammate Oscar Piastri charging to second place in a race that tested every ounce of skill, strategy, and nerve.
From the first lights to the final flag, the British Grand Prix was a high-octane spectacle. Both McLaren drivers launched cleanly, with Piastri boldly taking the lead from Verstappen as the track dried. As rain returned, the team executed a flawless double-stack pit stop for Intermediates. A slower stop for Norris allowed Verstappen to briefly regain position, but the chaos was far from over.
Two Safety Car deployments — including one following a Verstappen spin — reshuffled the pack. Norris inherited P2 and later took the lead after a perfectly timed switch to Medium tyres. Despite a 10-second penalty for a Safety Car infringement, Piastri rejoined in P2 after serving it in the pits, showcasing the raw pace of the McLaren-Monster machine.
The result? A commanding 1-2 finish on home soil.

Oscar Piastri
“It wasn’t the ending I hoped for, but I’m proud of what we achieved. The car was a rocket ship today. The penalty was tough, but we still brought it home in P2. Massive credit to the team — we’ll come back even stronger.”
Andrea Stella
