Etapa a 9-a de marți de la Dakar s-a dovedit a fi esențială, deoarece pilotul Monster Energy cu cele mai bune șanse să-l prindă pe liderul general al diviziei de motociclete, Daniel Sanders (KTM), Tosha Schareina de la Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally, a suferit o coborâre spectaculoasă aproape de începutul secțiunii Speciale la marca de 20 de km.
Daniel Sanders (KTM) conduce în continuare Raliul Dakar 2025, dar acel sunet pe care îl aude chiar în spatele lui iese din conductă unui Honda 450 Rally – în special cel al lui Tosha Schareina de la Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally.
Membrii echipei Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally au încercat să reducă timpul general al pilotului lider Daniel Sanders (KTM) pe bucla Al Duwadimi la Al Duwadimi. Dar Sanders s-a menținut puternic, câștigând etapa și extinzându-și avansul față de Tosha Schareina, locul 2 al Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally, la 15 minute și 33 de secunde.
