Monster Energy has extended its partnership with the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series for another three years, with 2023 being the 12th year we have supported speedway’s premier race series.
Speedway has engrained itself into the fabric of Monster Energy since we first joined forces with the SGP series back in 2012 and this new deal solidifies our commitment to the sport.
Speedway is motorsport in its rawest form. No brakes or gears, just four guys on their motorbikes twisting the throttle wide open in search for glory and we are honoured to have played our part in elevating the sport during the last 11 years.
The Speedway Grand Prix series sees the top 15 racers in the world go bar-to-bar over 10 rounds throughout the year, and we have been right in the thick of the action for 11 seasons now supporting both the series itself and individual athletes.
We were there to see Chris Holder shock the world to win the title way back in 2012, we’ve been along for the ride with Tai Woffinden as he’s won three championships and no man was more proud to wear the M-claw on the top step than Greg Hancock.
Off the track, we have brought the fans closer to the sport than ever before. From producing never-seen-before content to bringing our famous rig riots to events, from giving fans once-in-a-lifetime experiences to throwing kick-ass parties, we’ve been right at the heart of the fan experience.
Laura Manciet, FIM Speedway championships director, is delighted to continue working with a brand which truly has speedway at heart.
She said: “Monster Energy has a long history of supporting FIM Speedway and some of the best riders in the world, and it’s a real pleasure to continue our partnership for a further three years.
“Their ability to engage with and entertain our fans makes Monster Energy an integral part of an FIM Speedway weekend, and when you speak to the team, led by Joe Parsons, it’s clear they are true speedway supporters.”
Joe Parsons, Monster Energy Europe Director of Special Projects, commented: “We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship as the Official Energy Drink of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix. SGP and Monster Energy are two brands that share a passion for performance and innovation, while both supporting world-class athletes.”
As part of our new deal, we are also stoked to return as the headline partner for the FIM Monster Energy Speedway World Cup, which makes a comeback for 2023 after six years.
The Monster Energy SWC sees the top nine nations in the world do battle across four events in five days, and this year it returns for the first time since 2017.
The Polish city of Wroclaw hosts this year, with Poland, Australia, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland, France and Germany all vying for international glory in July.
As always, we will have tonnes of content coming from the sport this year from in-depth rider interviews to BTS videos, image galleries to race reports, so stay locked in to MonsterEnergy.com for your speedway fix!
