Mike Varga burst onto the BMX contest scene early in 2014 as an unknown kid with a Canadian accent, but he quickly made a name for himself by taking his casual 1080 spins into the finals of his first three pro events. Forged in the harsh winters in his hometown of Oshawa, Ontario, Mike has tricks on lock (like barspin 900s) that make current pro riders simply put their bikes down. And, he continues to redefine what's possible... Mike pulled the first ever 1260 (three and a half rotations) in his Monster Energy "Home Turf" edit way back in 2017 and it's still yet to be replicated by anyone else. Varga can also claim that he was the first to ever land a 900 tailwhip in 2017 and was able to get his first X Games Gold Medal in 2019 when he pulled another in the Dave Mirra Best Trick Event. While you can see Mike push the limits of what's possible, you can also get a glimpse into his daily session and shenanigans on his home ramp compound through his YouTube channel.

Could heaven be a place on earth? If you’re a freerider, then the answer is yes!

Until you've been mobbing through the city streets with hundreds of other riders, hopping curbs and avoiding traffic, it's difficult to get across the true vibe of a BMX street jam. After two years and support for more than ten local street jams across the globe in the bag, the Cash Up series has become a welcome pillar in the BMX events calendar, and there's even more jams being added to the list in 2025.

The wait is over! One of the world’s most progressive freeride MTB events, DarkFest, is back for 2025, bringing back massive jumps and an all-star lineup of riders ready for big air mayhem. Hosted by event creator Sam Reynolds, the legendary Vuurberg venue near Stellenbosch, South Africa, will once again be home to the planet’s gnarliest freeride sessions from April 7-12, 2025.
